piston pump

Developed in the mid-1940s, "CMtec" technology was designed to offer an industrial pump capable combining the advantages of both the gear pump and the vane pump. The particular and exclusive technology of our positive displacement pumps enables them to handle products containing particles and highly viscous fluids.

Today, more than sixty years after its first pump went into service, POMPES POLLARD has enjoyed a reputation for reliability and performance built on this innovation.

CM tec = Curved stator and Monoblock blades technology

 The CMtec principle:

Unlike most existing pumps, the stator is not cylindrical but conchoidal, allowing the use of monobloc vanes. The stator is easily adaptable to the exact required discharge.
The gear train is replaced by two rigid U-shaped vanes.

Main advantages of CMtec technology :

  • Exceptional reliability.
  • Ability to handle highly viscous products and products with particles.
  • Volumetric pumping whatever the rotation speed and viscosity.
  • "Tailor made"pumps due to the technology simplicity
  • Direction of fluid flow independent of the shaft rotation direction
  • Soft pumping : no shearing effect for the product
  • High aspiration capacity.
  • Integrated safety by-pass protecting the circuit.
  • Self-priming.
  • Simple and rapid maintenance.
  • Low noise level pump

Operating principle

The vanes are driven rotationally by the rotor and their edges are in permanent sliding contact with the stator. The eccentricity of the stator bore creates the volume corresponding to the pump's internal capacity.
When the pump is in operation, during the aspiration phase, the volume between the vanes increases and generates suction.
During the discharge phase, the opposite phenomenon occurs generating the output pressure.
The pumps are self-priming.
"CM tec" pumps may be of two types:

Reversible: when the direction of rotation of the pump is reversed, the direction of the fluid pumped is reversed; or

Reverse Plus System: when the direction of rotation of the pump is reversed, the direction of the fluid pumped remains unchanged. The "Reverse Plus System" is made possible by a 180° rotation of the stator, the rotation being achieved automatically, with no extra mechanical system involved. It is the fluid that drives the stator. This pump is as reliable as the standard reversible model.

Application examples :

  • Transfer of chemicals.
  • Lubrication of machine tools, engines or gear wheels.
  • Alimentation of motors with diesel, kerosen or skydrol.
  • Transfer of cooling fluids in closed circuit installations.
  • Transfer of fibre-lubricating products in the textile industry.
  • Emptying of truck tanks.
  • Lubrication of railway equipment or public works equipment.
  • Transfer of products in oil-related industries.
  • Packaging fluids in the food industry.
  • Re-conditioning of industrial drums.
  • Transfer of feed for bee hives.
  • Emptying of industrial friers.
  • Transfer of paint-related fluids.
  • Cleaning and filtration of oil in closed circuits.
